On Wednesday, January 11, 2017 lawmakers in Turkey exchanged punches during a debate over constitutional amendments that would expand presidential powers. According to Turkish state news agency Anadolu, 'the fight broke out on Wednesday shortly after opposition lawmaker Özgür Özel told ruling party lawmakers "You are trying to destroy yourselves when the TV is off and nobody sees. We won't let it happen'. Lawmakers were debating ending "parliament's authorization to inspect ministers and the Cabinet." Shortly after Özel comments, fellow members of the main opposition Republican People's Party encircled the speaker's rostrum with arms joined, occupying the area in protest. The fight broke out soon afterward and one senior lawmaker with the ruling Justice and Development (AK) party suffered a broken nose, according to the report.

This incident happened sometime during the trial of the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu. One of the men arrested with him was upset that they were handcuffed while in court and made several allegations.

Member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rumuokparali, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State defected to PDP today. The Department of State Security Service (DSS) have arrested four fleeing Boko Haram members in Oko-Oba  , Ifako-Ijaye LGA of Lagos State and a commander of the terror group in Okene, Kogi State. A statement signed by its spokesperson, Tony Opuiyo, said the terrorists were nabbed Tuesday, January 10th, after they fled their locations in the North East as a result of the the ongoing military operations. A commander of the Boko Haram sect identified as Abdullahi Mohammed, aka Huja, who was arrested at Okene town of Adavi Local Government Area, had been responsible for the coordination of Boko Haram activities in Okene axis of Kogi State. Ray J is in the hospital and angry at UK "Celebrity Big Brother" for letting him suffer for days in extreme pain to the point he blacked out before getting any medical assistance. After his complaint of neglect, he got kicked out of the house just 1 week after the show started. According to  TMZ, 3 days ago, Ray J developed "extreme tooth pain" and complained to cast members and producers about his pain. Sources connected to Ray J, say producers initially didn't believe him and ignored his complaints and ordered Ray to continue shooting the show. The next day, cast members felt the situation was so bad they refused to continue shooting until Ray J got medical help. A dentist came to the set, the next day and gave Ray 8 painkillers, 4 of which he was to take immediately and the remaining 4 the next morning. They say Ray woke up Tuesday in unbearable pain, took the remaining 4 pills and then pleaded for help. The Borno Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said it has discovered "Count down Timers" used by Boko Haram terrorists to detonate explosives. The Commandant of the corps, Mr Ibrahim Abdullahi, who disclosed this on Tuesday in Maiduguri said that the instruments were discovered by men of the Disaster Management Unit of the command at the scene of Sunday’s bomb blast in Kalari area of the state capital. "The digital timer countdown displayed served the purpose of allowing the planter of bomb or suicide bomber to know the time to explode his Improvised Explosive Device. A Nigerian woman gave birth to triplets 58 days ago in Kwara State. Two of the babies weighed  700 grams while the third weighed 0.7kg at birth. According to Wellbeing Foundation, the children are growing fast and doing well and now weigh 2.2kg as at this morning, January 9th.
