Gambian President, Yahya Jammeh, who lost to his opponent, Adams Barrow, in the presidential election held earlier this month has now refused to accept the result, claiming there were 'abnormalities' in the votes. Jammeh, who has been the leader of The Gambia for 22 years after a successful coup in 1994, surprised everyone last week when he called the President-elect to wish him well. "You are the elected president of The Gambia, and I wish you all the best. I have no ill will.” He said at the time. However, just hours ago, Jammeh backtracked and is asking for a fresh election. In his words; “After a thorough investigation, I have decided to reject the outcome of the recent election. I lament serious and unacceptable abnormalities which have reportedly transpired during the electoral process.                                  The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed that 53 persons were burnt to death in a multiple motor accident that occurred on Thursday evening at Abudu town along Benin-Agbor-Onitsha express road. The accident involved seven vehicles which includes; two hummer buses, Toyota Sienna, One Dyna truck, a tanker carrying petrol a Ford bus and one Toyota corolla car and a motor cycle. An eye witness said they helplessly watched the victims burn to death as they couldn't do any thing to save them due to the lack of fire service station in the local government. The FRSC Edo State Sector Command released a statement today, stating that the cause of the was accident was a brake failure and that apart  from the 53 dead people who died, five more person sustained various degrees of injuries and are currently receiving treatment in the hospital. ...

Mariah Carey who always insists on been photographed from her right side has revealed the reason behind the decision. Speaking to her makeup artist on an episode of Mariah's World, She revealed that she only wants her right side photographed because of what a lady on the set of a photo-shoot she did when 19 years said.  According to her, while doing her first photo shoot at the age of nineteen, a lady on set said, her right side was her good side: "This is your good side, only let people photograph you from your good side, ever." After she heard her comments, she hated all pictures taken from her left side. Her makeup artist replies saying he thinks she had a crappy photographer. Mariah admitted she did have a crappy photographer and a makeup artist then. Justice John Tsoho of a Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed the defamation suit filed by President Buhari against DAAR Communications, owner of the African Independent Television AIT. President Buhari filed the lawsuit against the TV station after it aired a "hate" document against him during the buildup of the 2015 presidential election. Justice Tsoho dismissed the case at its resumed hearing today.

A 75-year-old Tanzanian man has put up advertising posters in a bid to find a partner after his wife died. In the posters that have been put up in Mbagala area of Dar es Salaam, Athumani Mchambua urged interested applicants to show up for an interview. The poster, in Swahili, says the successful candidate must be hardworking, able to handle farm work and be willing to be a step-mother to his 11 children. In an interview with BBC, Mchambua said he wanted to do the search on his own and not through intermediaries, which is traditional in some cultures. "I felt that if I was to use a traditional intermediary to find a wife, they might find a woman and then want to keep her for themselves. That’s why I decided that I search for her on my own, and put out those posters," said Mchambura. So far, four women had already signified interest in response to his advert. A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane with about 47 people on board crashed in the mountainous north of the country on Wednesday, December 7th, police and the civil aviation authority said. PIA said a plane bound for the capital, Islamabad, from the northern town of Chitral lost contact with the control tower en-route. An earlier statement said the ATR-42 turboprop aircraft was carrying around 40 people but the civil aviation authority said 47 people were on board. It is not clear if there were any casualties. Laiq Shah, a senior police official in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, said the plane had crashed in the province’s Havelian area. “Rescue teams are reaching the scene of the crash, and then we will know more,” civil aviation authority spokesman Pervez George told Reuters. Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), this morning, stormed the home of Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, at Park View Estate in Ikoyi, Lagos to conduct a search. They were however unsuccessful as they were denied access into her home. They left immediately with a promise to come back again. Justice Ofili-Ajumogobia is currently standing trial on a 26-count charge of unlawful enrichment, forgery and giving false information to an official of the EFCC, among others. She was arraigned before Jutice Akeem Oshodi of a Lagos State High Court in Ikeja on November 28th. She is accused of also receiving N5 million bribe from Godwin Obla, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria SAN, to pervert justice in a case brought before her.
