Late Peace Udoh was among 60 people who perished when the roof of the Reigners Bible Church International in Uyo, Akwa Ibom collapsed. The church was still under construction and workers had been rushing to finish it in time for a ceremony to ordain founder, Apostle Akan Weeks as a bishop. Hundreds of people, including Governor Udom Emmanul were inside when metal girders crashed onto worshippers and the corrugated iron roof caved in. Miss Udoh, until her death was a Linguistics student at the University of Uyo. She was serving as an usher at the church. According to an eyewitness account, the incident occurred immediately after offertory collection, while the ordination of Apostle Akan Weeks as Bishop was the next item, according to the programme. A tanker carrying inflammable substances rammed into several vehicles before bursting into flames near Karai on the Nairobi-Naivasha Highway, killing 40 people and injuring dozens  on Saturday . Witnesses at the scene said the driver of the tanker lost control while going downhill and hit the other vehicle which created chain of knocks. The accident on the busy highway, some 80 kilometres west of Nairobi created a horrible scene. Two survivors of the accident have been admitted at the Nairobi hospital; one in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and while the other is said to be in stable condition. Four victims were taken to the Naivasha Mt Longonot Medical Centre while two were treated and discharged. Two others, according to the Clinical Officer at the facility Dalmas Otumba, were taken to Nairobi hospital for specialised treatment.
